How it works

Alma Opus uses advanced radiofrequency (RF) energy and microplasma technology to deliver controlled heat to the skin's deeper layers. PRE-TREATMENT

Hydrate!
If you have a history of cold sores, we will need to pretreat 24 hours prior to treatment with an antiviral agent to prevent a breakout.
Avoid sun expose or sunless tanner 2 weeks prior to treatment. Stop retinols 1 week prior to treatment.

TREATMENT DAY

Hydrate!
Removal all head and neck jewelry prior to treatment.
Treatment area needs to be clean and free of lotion. We will provide facial cleanser for you if needed, please arrive 10 minutes early if you would like to wash your face.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will begin with numbing the entire treatment area with a topical numbing agent that will sit on your skin for 20-30 minutes. We will then remove the numbing cream and begin the treatment! You may experience a warm, tingling sensation during the treatment and we have a fan you can hold to make it more comfortable.

POST TREATMENT EXPECTATIONS

REDNESS & SWELLING

Redness and a mild sunburn sensation may last a few hours to 2 days.
Swelling can persist up to 5 days; take 25 mg of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) at bedtime if needed.

SKIN TEXTURE/CRUSTING

Higher levels of treatment may leave a pixel pattern on the skin, giving it a leathery texture. This is normal! Skin may flake or crust around days 3-5. Avoid picking and exfoliation.

HEALING

Full healing (re-epithelialization) takes 5-7 days.
Moist, well-hydrated skin heals faster with fewer treatments required.
You may begin to notice subtle results within 4 weeks, with ongoing improvement over 3-6 weeks weeks as collagen & elastin stimulation takes place. Full results are typically achieved after 3 months.
